Trade with your AI
You can let your own AI assistant check your portfolio and trade for you in this month's game: Claude, ChatGPT, or an agent you run yourself. Ask it once (“buy 20 Nvidia”) or give it a standing job (“every weekday morning, check my portfolio”).
Your AI chooses the trades, not The Wealth Lab. It's still a game with play money, and nothing your AI or The Wealth Lab tells you is financial advice. Trades your AI places count like any others, and players who use one get a 🤖 beside their name on the leaderboard.
Connect it
Claude or ChatGPT app
Add The Wealth Lab as a connector, once. There's nothing to paste into the chat.
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Create. ChatGPT may ask you to turn on developer mode first.
- Paste
https://thewealthlab.au/mcpas the address. - Sign in to The Wealth Lab when asked, and choose whether it can trade or only look.
Connectors, and how they're named in settings, depend on your plan and change from time to time. Check Claude's or ChatGPT's help if the steps don't match.
Claude Code, Codex or your own agent
Make an API key on Connect your AI. The page shows a prompt to paste into your agent, which points it at https://thewealthlab.au/agents.md: the instructions it needs. Keep the key in an environment variable rather than pasting it into a chat.
Claude Code can also add The Wealth Lab as a connector with the key. The page shows the command.
Microsoft Copilot, or a chatbot with no connectors
A chatbot that can only read web pages can't trade for you: placing an order needs a signed-in request. That includes the Microsoft Copilot app, which can't add a connector. It can explain the API or write a script, but it can't run it. Use one that supports connectors, or an agent that can run commands.
Things to ask
Once
- “What's in my Wealth Lab portfolio, and how did it do today?”
- “Buy about $10,000 of the cheapest Mag 7 stock. Show me first.”
- “Sell all my Tesla.”
- “Put in a limit order to buy 50 AMD if it drops to $140.”
- “Which of Rob's Picks have a health score of 5?”
- “Where am I on the leaderboard, and how far behind the leader?”
Your AI shows you each order, with its price and fees, before placing it.
On a schedule
Most AI apps can run a task on a schedule, such as Claude's scheduled tasks or a cron job for your own agent. For example:
- “Every weekday at 9 am, check my Wealth Lab portfolio and tell me what moved.”
- “Every Monday, sell anything in my Wealth Lab portfolio that's down more than 10% since I bought it. Don't ask me first.”
A scheduled task can trade without asking only if you tell it to, and only with a connection that's allowed to trade.
Staying in control
How do I stop it?
Disconnect the app or revoke the key on Connect your AI. It stops working straight away.
What can it see?
Your portfolio, orders and history in this month's game, prices, and the leaderboard. It can't see your email address or change your account.
Is there a limit?
About 120 requests and 30 orders a minute. Admins can turn AI trading off for a game.
