Rent, Invest, and Build Wealth
Description
Choosing to rent longer term can be a great path to wealth because renting is often quite a bit cheaper than owning right now. By saving regularly and investing those extra funds into world stock exchanges over decades rather than just a few years, you are buying into high-quality businesses that do complex things. Throughout my career, I have seen portfolios started back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s that have compounded into extraordinary wealth, sustaining the next generation and funding their retirements decades later. Microsoft is an extreme example, up hundreds of thousands of percent since 1986, but you only need the odd business to return 500%, 1,000%, or 2,000% over a lifetime to create substantial, long-term wealth.
