Why you shouldn't compare past investment returns against your home loan interest rate?

Description

I’ve often had people compare their previous investment returns whether that’s in their superannuation or other entity with that of their mortgage on their home loans. And for me this is not the way to assess where you should be giving your preferences as we are talking about past returns up against a guaranteed future interest saving. I understand that everyone is after the answer but nothing is ever black or white as making concessional contributions and paying 15% as opposed to your marginal tax rate will always make more sense than paying off your home loan with after tax money. As always this is general advice on a recommend you seek personal financial advice. ##robgoudie##financialadvice##investing##debtfreejourney##superannuation
