The Biggest Retirement Mistake I See

The biggest mistake I see at the start of retirement is making your investment portfolio your new hobby.
You should know where your money is, what structure it is in and why. But once you have that confidence, you need to learn to let go. Checking your portfolio constantly will only ever create a negative feeling about money and I can guarantee that affects your mood and everyone around you.

Retire to something. Golf, bowls, fitness, coffee with friends. Fill your days with the things you love. Most of my clients are business owners who are used to being in control, and delegating that can be hard. But once the money is invested and you understand what is happening, it is time to step back and let it do its job.

Stay across it at review time. But do not make it your daily occupation.
