Why more income does not always lead to more wealth #lifestyleinflation #financialgrowth
Description
A pay rise should build your wealth… not just your lifestyle.
One of the most common patterns I see is income increasing and spending following straight after.
Dinner to celebrate turns into weeks of higher spending.
And before long, that extra income is gone.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your money.
But if every increase in income is matched with an increase in lifestyle, it becomes very hard to get ahead.
A simple way to approach it:
If your income goes up 5%,
maybe your lifestyle only goes up 1%
and the remaining 4% is directed towards building wealth.
The key is automation.
If the money never sits in your everyday account, you’re far less likely to spend it.
Set it up so it moves the day after you get paid.
Small shifts like this, done consistently, are what actually build long-term wealth.
