One of the biggest challenges for parents is funding their kids’ pathway to independence.
Once teenagers get their first job, they start to understand that an hour of work equals a dollar value, and that’s when respect for money really clicks.
As parents, our role is to teach that, while also helping fund things that build long-term independence like education, courses, or tools of the trade.
A simple rule that works: give a weekly amount, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.
If they want more, it comes from their own hard-earned money.
