Spouse super contribution #contribution

Description

If you are a high income earner and your spouse is out of the workforce, or earning below $37,000, you could make a $3,000 spouse contribution into their superannuation account.

Leave it as a non-concessional contribution (do not lodge a notice of intent to claim), and the government will give you, as the contributor, a $540 tax offset - effectively an 18% return on that $3,000.

And of course, that money is now invested in your spouse's super, so make sure it is in the right asset class to perform well for your family's future.
