Is a self managed super fund worth it? For some people, yes
Description
Is a self managed super fund worth it? For some people, yes. For everyone, no. An SMSF can offer greater control over investments and flexibility in retirement planning. But that control comes with responsibilities, costs and different protections from those available in industry or retail funds. It’s also worth looking at every layer of fees. Adding an investment platform inside an SMSF can mean paying administration and product fees on top of the fund’s own running costs. The real question is whether the flexibility and control deliver enough value for your circumstances. Your balance matters, but so do your goals, the complexity of your strategy and your willingness to take on trustee responsibilities. General advice only. Consortium Private Wealth AFSL 495401
