What Should You Do When the Share Market Crashes?
Description
When markets crash, the 24 hour news cycle will amplify every bit of fear it can find. My advice is simple. Hold. Buy more if you can. And stop looking at your portfolio. Stop watching the news too. It will not help you make a good decision. It will only make you feel worse and push you toward selling at exactly the wrong time. I saw it during the GFC. Respected commentators throwing fuel on the fire, scaring people into selling at the bottom. The most inappropriate time to sell is almost always the best time to buy. I tell my clients this often. If we have cash sitting aside waiting for a correction, I will call you when you least want to invest. That is usually exactly when you should. General Advice Only.
